“First-Things-First”: Sunday morning Bible Study

Join us bright and early every Sunday morning before the first service of worship, as we engage thought-provoking discussion and study of God’s Word. Bring your Bible, your coffee or tea (we’ll provide the breakfast snacks!), and an open mind! Together, let’s start the day right. Right in God’s Word!!

We gather on Sunday mornings at 8:15 in the Parlour. For more information, speak to Sue Fairs (905-844-2507).

Monday Night for MEN

Connect with men from the congregation (both younger and young-at-heart) at our informal gatherings Monday nights at Knox Church on the lower level. This is a time of discussion and reflection, sometimes focused around a book or Bible study. Our over-arching question is always – what does it mean to be a Christian man in today’s world? Each participant brings their own context, experience, questions, doubts and wisdom to the table.

In the recent past we have studied such authors as: Tim Keller (Counterfeit Gods) and Lee Strobel (The Case for Christ). We have also studied the Biblical accounts of King Solomon, Daniel and the Apostle Paul. The size of the group, between six and 12, allows for group interaction in a way that is difficult for larger groups to achieve. YOUR presence at our gatherings would mean so much to each of us.

For more information, speak to Gerhardt Samwell (905-845-9765) or Stephen Dick (905-582-0658).

Women and the Word: Tuesday morning Bible Study

This is a group of over 20 welcoming women who meet, every Tuesday morning in the church Parlour, from 10:00-11:30 a.m., for "question/answer/understand and apply" format Bible study. Participants in this study have found that their entire week flows from this one hour of immersion in scripture where we draw closer to the Lord and to one another.

Sue Thacker facilitates and all are welcome. Call the church office for more information.

W.O.W (The Word on Wednesday): Wednesday evening Bible study
Join this committed group of men and women who gather for fellowship and structured study of scripture every Wednesday evening from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in the GREEN Room (south end of the church building). The format used is "question/answer/understand and apply", and the hour always seems to pass too quickly!

Sue Thacker facilitates and all are welcome. Call the church office for more information.

Mums ‘N’ More

Part coffee klatch, part Christian book club, part prayer group and part fundraising team. Moms ‘N More is a lively group of Christian women who meet to pray, share and strengthen their faith. Activities include book studies, charity work, and lots of prayer, discussion, laughter and fun. This group also supports special events at Knox, including the Seniors’ Communion, Vacation Bible School, and funeral receptions. The ladies also raise funds to support outreach projects, such as "Christmas on Lakeshore” through Kerr Street Ministries.

This lively group meets on the first and third Thursday morning (9:30-11:00 a.m.), and last Monday evening (8:00-10:00 p.m.), of every month – often in the Church Parlour. Attendance is on a ‘drop-in’ basis, and visitors are more than welcome!

New Members Classes

Are you considering making Knox Oakville your home church? Have you been attending Knox for quite some time, but you want to rediscover the ‘basics’ of Presbyterianism, or how our church ‘works’? If so, you’re going to want to attend a series of new member classes led by our Ministers.

Call the main office to inquire about “new member” joining dates, as well as any scheduled new member classes. For more information about membership at Knox Oakville, please speak to one of the Ministers.

Baptism Preparation

If you are seeking the sacrament of Baptism for yourself or your child, please call the main office to arrange a meeting with one of the Ministers. One or two meetings with Rev. Mike or Rev. Jacqui will guide you to a deeper understanding of the significance and celebration of baptism, while adequately preparing you for the events surrounding the moment of Baptism itself.
