Like all Presbyterian Churches in Canada, Knox values the active leadership of both ministers and church members. Ministry at Knox is a shared calling--we’re all encouraged to use the gifts God has given us.
Elders
Members elected by the congregation for their caring and spiritual discernment, meet regularly in a “session” to guide church life. They’re responsible for spiritual oversight as well as high level administration and operation of the church.
Cluster Coach
Volunteers work in ministry teams, led by coaches who coordinate similar ministries within larger groups or clusters--for example, Christian Education or Outreach. Replacing old style committees, team-based leadership is a dynamic new vision for churches first espoused by Bill Easum (author of Sacred Cows make Gourmet Burgers, among other books). It’s an organization model that puts ministry front and centre, and shares that ministry among the congregation.
